You place the iron in a smelting cup.
Using a pair of tongs you take the cup from the oven.
You carefully pour the hot iron into a mould.
You leave the iron to cool down.
You shake two caps from a mould.
You can now rivet the caps to the staff.

You slide the caps over the butts of the staff.
You take a hammer and tiny rivets and carefully clop the rivets through the metal caps.
With tiny clops you drive the rivets through the caps.
You grab a file and carefully remove the sharp heads from the rivets.
You put the staff in the barrel to wash the wire edges off.
